Project 2 Exquisite Corpse Soundscape

I wanted to create a sound experience that would take one through a journey of human experience. From nothing but nature and silence and the sounds of the world, to the spirling cities that we have today. We start with the sounds of a creek, crickets and birds. With a sudden stop we hear drums and the first human coming into the world. The next few sounds are still very much nature oriented, and yet we begin to hear more human sounds. This signifies the start of society and the takeover of nature. These sounds begin to clash and fight with each other as society grows and nature begins to diminish. We hear a fire start and the beginning of the industrial age. More and more sounds are introduced and it gets harder and harder to hear the faint birds, streams and crickets. This is where I really connect to the sounds, the sounds of technology, notifications and cars running around a city. There are no sounds left of birds or streams and each of the sounds feel like they are fighting each other. It's full of chaos and hard to distinguish between sounds. It gets louder and louder, hopefully making people uncomfortable with the sounds that we have created. This finally ends suddenly with crickets making the final sounds. I added this as a way for hope in the end that we can reconnect with nature and learn to coexist. As a computer science student this really connects with me as I am at the forefront of a lot of technology, however I still love going outdoors and experiencing nature. I don't want it to go away.
